Ekoligens Makes Premium Hangers from Kraft Paper

A hanger that looks, feels, and functions almost exactly like a plastic one – yet is biodegradable. That’s how Andreas Desai, Sales Director at Ekoligens, describes their hangers made from Nordic Paper's kraft paper.
In an increasing number of clothing stores, garments are now being hung on paper hangers produced by Ekoligens in Kungälv, Sweden. Using kraft paper as their raw material, the hangers are molded under pressure to become as strong and durable as their plastic counterparts. The hangers are available in a wide variety of shapes and styles, and customers can choose to have them coated in any color – though the uncoated, natural version is becoming more and more popular.
“We’re seeing that more and more of our customers are choosing the uncoated option, specifically because they want to preserve the natural feel and build an eco-friendlier profile,” says Andreas Desai.
“Trend toward finding alternatives to plastic”
Ekoligens’ clients range from Swedish fashion brands to well-known global luxury labels.
“Of course, it’s incredibly exciting that our hangers are being used all over the world – we’re very proud of that. We’re also seeing growing demand for our paper hangers and a clear trend toward finding alternatives to plastic.”
Producing paper-made hangers is Ekoligens’ way of contributing to a more sustainable world. Andreas Desai shares the company’s long-term vision of eventually replacing all plastic hangers.
“You might think a hanger is a small and insignificant item, but there are an astonishing number of plastic hangers used in the fashion and clothing industry. The more of them we can replace, the better for our planet.”
