Sustainability
Our focus areas
Sustainable work environment
We have a zero vision for accidents at work and makes systematic efforts to create a workplace where nobody’s health or safety is put at risk.
Reduced climate impact
Through continual improvements at the mills and by setting clear criteria in procurement, we are constantly working to reduce the company’s overall climate impact.
Products that support sustainability
Using Nordic Paper’s products rather than fossil-based packaging solutions allows consumers to reduce their climate impact.
We are part of a circular, bio-based economy in which renewable fibres are processed into recyclable paper products that can replace fossil-based alternatives. Approximately one third of the wood raw material consist of wood chips which that are a by product of the sawmill industry, the remainder of our raw materials consist of pulpwood.
Several of Nordic Paper’s plants are located in rural communities where we play a significant role as an employer. Our company provides jobs and gives business to local suppliers of goods and services. Our top priority is to ensure that the work environment is safe and healthy for everyone who works for us.
We strive for sustainable profitability that enables continuous improvement in production and resource usage. Our ambition is to continue reducing the negative impact of our operations in collaboration with stakeholders throughout the value chain, while actively working to increase the positive impact of our products, for example by replacing fossil-based packaging materials.
